We became friends as college freshmen in 2013. Since then, we’ve shared countless adventures and philosophical talks, stayed close through different stages of life, and spent years talking about starting a business together.

The idea for a mobile sauna brought our interests together: Christopher’s growing passion for construction and craftsmanship, and Zane’s background in wellness and hospitality. Stoic Saunas became a way to build something that reflected both of us.

We’ve put thought into how the whole experience will feel—from the warmth and rich scent of cedar to a large window that opens the space to the Pacific Northwest scenery.

One feature we kept coming back to was a spacious, covered porch. It gives guests somewhere to cool off, spend time together, and enjoy the outdoors without stepping into the mud. We pictured rain tapping on the roof, snow falling beyond the porch, and an unhurried moment between rounds of heat.

That’s what we’re building: a welcoming place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the surroundings.
