Stoic Saunas

The foundation elements are tailored to the surface the sauna is built on.

- The floor is insulated with foam board  panels in order to prevent the growth of mold/mildew as well as to resist the presence of rodents and insects.

Framing is constructed in accordance with the shape of the sauna build. All walls are squared and plum.

The sheathing is 1/2” for the walls and 3/4” for the flooring and the roofing. Sheathing reinforces the strength of the structure.

The roofing is metal, in order to withstand any embers from the sauna stove. 

Traditional house wrap is used in order to seal moisture out and weatherproof the structure.

Insulated, tempered, double pane glass is used for the sauna windows. The size and shape is customizable. The window and door jams are fully custom and built from 1"x cedar.

The siding is cedar tongue and groove. The widths and styles are custom for each client. 

Mineral wool is used to insulate the walls and ceiling of the sauna. The reason being, mineral wool doesn’t let off any toxic gasses at sauna temperatures.

A foil vapor barrier is installed to prevent humidity from penetrating the structure of the sauna.

We use industry leaving HUUM sauna stoves (usually wood burning) for maximum performance and beauty.

Constructed of clear cedar 1”x, the sauna benches are comfortable and consistent.  A custom removable cedar flooring section is also installed as well as desired backrests and additional features. 

Polyurethane is used for exterior weatherproofing to prevent against UV and weather wear. A custom door with tempered and insulated glass is also made to order.

LED lights are used to illuminate the sauna, inside and out, during beautiful evening sessions.
